Trent University April 11

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hundreds of participants from the region to compete

Tuesday, April 3, 2012, Peterborough

Trent University will host the 2012 annual Peterborough Regional Science Fair, showcasing the work of 251 students representing 24 schools from Apsley to Cobourg, on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in both the Chemical Science Building and Environmental Sciences Building on Symons Campus.

The fair is open to the public for viewing between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Admission is free of charge. Throughout the day, approximately 140 judges will be involved in evaluating the projects and identifying those of the highest merit. Awards will be presented in the Wenjack Theatre at 3:30 p.m.

Each year, students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 display their projects in biological, physical, engineering, and computing sciences. The experience is an invaluable stepping stone for many who go on to pursue successful careers.

This year, the winners of the Science Fair will represent the Peterborough Region at the Canada Wide Science Fair in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, May 12 to 18, 2012.
