Trent University Durham will be hosting its annual Black History event on Friday, February 27th, 2015. The event will be a celebration of the history and culture of black peoples under the theme of Black Women Paving the Way. It will be composed of three prongs; community, cultural and educational, bringing together members of the community to share their experiences and visions. The event will run from 5 pm to 9 pm and include drumming, singing, inspirational talks, food and crafts. Among the featured performers are Nicolle Coco LaRain and Jonie Davis. The evening will culminate with the presentation of the Local Hero Award.  All are welcome!
