The Trent Business Students’ Association (TBSA) recently made history on a national level after winning an unprecedented two awards at the Roundtable 2014 Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS) national conference hosted in Montreal at the John Molson School of Business (Concordia).
The TBSA’s six executive members and nine directors were recognized with the award for Most Outstanding Council in all of Canada for 2013/2014 as well as the award for Best Overall Performance at the conference. The awards came with a $1,000 cash prize, and are the TBSA’s first awards at this conference, and a first in the history of the TBSA.
“Trent Business has always been a fan favourite at any CABS event,” said TBSA vice president of Student Affairs Amanda King. “We joke about going against $1.2 million budgets but now, we have proof that the TBSA and Trent Business can make waves and contend on a national level. We could not be more thankful for the recognition CABS has given us.”
TBSA president Ryan Minicola added: “The TBSA put in countless hours to significantly enhance Trent's business student experience. All of that hard work paid off as you can see by our awards and recognition. This award means we have changed the perception and reputation of the Trent Business program: our small school can be on the same level as the biggest business schools in Canada, we can compete and we can make an impact.”
