“It’s really exciting to be able to pursue a career in my chosen field so quickly after graduating,” says Brianna Boisvert, a recent Business Administration grad from Trent University Durham, who landed a job as recruitment assistant for the HR Service Delivery Division within the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.

Describing her days working in an HR role, preparing hiring documents, checking collective agreements and policies, providing hiring managers with risk evaluations and employing a lot of what she has learned during her university career, Ms. Boisvert says “I would say for sure, I am in my current dream job.”

Ms. Boisvert graduated from Trent University Durham this past June and was able to secure a position in her chosen field within weeks of completing her degree. An Articulation and Pathways Program student, Ms. Boisvert found success through completing an Advanced College Diploma from Durham College and then transferring to Trent University Durham to complete a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resource Management.

“At Trent University Durham I was able to push myself and develop a strong set of skills to apply to a position in HR,” Ms. Boisvert said. “I took courses in project management and I can see in my role now how it helps.”

Speaking of her Trent experience, Ms. Boisvert adds: “I always tell people go to Trent Durham. It is such a good school. You build strong relationships with your professors. Where else does that happen? You learn great skills at Trent. My advice to the next generation of graduates is have the confidence to apply those skills forward.”
