The media collection supports Trent University's instructional and research needs and comprises approximately:
Media are available for classroom viewing or individual study. All media titles owned by the Trent Library can be found in TOPCAT. See the Borrowing page for information about access to media. Individual titles can be booked by instructors for classroom viewing, through TOPCAT.
The Trent Library has arranged to have a small number of our purchased films licensed, digitized, and hosted for streaming over the internet. A company called McNabb Connolly is providing this service. Titles were selected based on circulation activity, demand for materials moving between Peterborough and Oshawa, and availability of streaming rights. See titles and details.
We also purchase access to films as streaming media, via the internet. These are available through links in TOPCAT.
The Library acquires media upon the recommendation of faculty. Suggestions for additions to the collection are welcome and may be made through departmental Library Coordinators.
See the Faculty page for more information about selecting and requesting media titles.
Questions about purchasing for the collection should be directed to Elizabeth Wilson. General questions about the use of media should be directed to Library Help by email or by telephone at 748-1011 ext. 7420.
