Trent University in Oshawa Announces Open House Plans on March 13

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Event to Showcase Interdisciplinary Degree Opportunities for Students

Monday, March 10, 2008, Oshawa

All prospective Trent students, who are interested in taking a campus tour and learning more about Trent’s academic programs and support services in Oshawa, are invited to bring their families and friends to the Trent University in Oshawa’s annual March Break Open House to be held on Thursday, March 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will feature an Academic Fair with faculty and staff on hand to discuss the range of programs and answer any questions interested students may have. Trent offers an outstanding university experience where students can take a range of full-time or part-time interdisciplinary programs, including anthropology, computer science/studies, environmental and resource science/studies, history, psychology and women’s studies. Select programs offer students the opportunity to earn their degrees entirely in Oshawa, while other programs require students travel to Peterborough to complete their degrees.

Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to talk to representatives from student services, meet academic advisors, receive information on Financial Aid, talk to current students via the Peer Mentoring Program, inquire about transfer credits, and participate in a tour of Trent’s campus. A complimentary lunch will be served.

Prospective students and their families will also be invited to take a campus tour, speak to an Academic Skills representative, meet the University Librarian, and learn about student supports such as Disability Services. Student life is an important part of the Trent experience, so guests will also have a chance to find out more about the Student Association and opportunities to participate in varsity sports for Trent in Oshawa students.

The Trent University in Oshawa March 13 Open House will take place on the campus it shares with Durham College in the Gordon Willey Building, South Wing Hallway.
