Honorary Professor

The Senate has conferred the title of Honorary Professor upon Denis Smith, former Trent vice-president and founding editor of the Journal of Canadian Studies. The award was recommended by the Committee on Academic Personnel and was approved at the Senates September meeting. Dr. Smith was a professor in the political studies department when the university opened in 1963 and vice-president from 1964 to 1967.

United Way seeks support

The Trent campaign for the local United Way has reached 78 per cent of its $51,000 goal, but is still seeking support. If you'd like a replacement pledge form, please contact Sybil Thorn at ext. 1600.

Prof. Jackie Muldoon won the campaign's draw prize of a weekend for two at the Ganonoque Inn, donated by Ostrander Cruise and Travel, and Pauline Mills won the runner-up grand prize of two tickets to a Raptors game, donated by President Patterson.
