February session reintroduced

Trent will reintroduce the February Session to its offerings next year.

Up to 15 first-year courses will be available beginning February 8, 1999. Four of those courses will be offered at Durham College in Oshawa as part of the University Centre at Durham program.

The courses will be of 12-weeks' duration and will consist of both full- and half-courses. Some of the departments involved in the new session in Peterborough include Administrative Studies, Anthropology, Mathematics, Biology, French, Computer Studies, Physics and Psychology. Those in Oshawa include English Literature, Cultural Studies, Psychology and Native Studies.

Its hoped the courses will attract secondary school students who have completed, or have almost completed, their OAC year. Courses will also be available to international students who have arrived at Trent through the International Program and want to get a head start on the programs of study, part-time students and mature students.

In combination with the summer sessions, a student could potentially complete first year by next September.

More information will soon be available from the Registrars Office and Julian Blackburn College.
