1964

After 27 years of employment in the teaching/library profession, Henry Hobbs '64 is planning to retire on June 25th of this year. Future plans are to remain in Flin Flon and work part time as a consultant for the school division. He and his wife Glenda also plan to do some traveling and may visit Trent in September.

1971

Alex Peterson '71 with Cathy Brunger '89 and Professor Alan Brunger were on Constantia Mountain south of Cape Town, South Africa. Alex has been working with the Cape Argus newspaper for some time. During their sabbatical earlier this year, Cathy and Alan were based at the University of Cape Town.

1977

Joe Dupuis '77 and Cathy Brunger '89 were on the Corniche Promenade, Abu Dhabi, overlooking the Prsian Gulf where Joe has been employed with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company since early 1998. He previously worked in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

1978

Andy Bullock and Janyte Alvestad-Bullock '78 wanted to remind old friends they're down in Massachusetts, about 15 miles from Cape Cod and are always looking to make contact with old Otonabee friends. They have three very active boys, Craig 12, Erik 10 and Ian 6. Andy continues to work in the mailorder Native craft supply business - The Wandering Bull - he began after his years at Trent. Shawn Haley (M.A. '79) has started a new publishing business in Alberta. He invites all Trent Alumni to visit him (and leave a message) at http://www.eaglecreek.org.

1980

Jeff J.J. Hill '80 sends his greetings from New Zealand - Kia Ora! He is about to start a second year teaching in Auckland. He's had lots of adventures and been working with good kids. 1981

Kathy Mansell '81, husband Rick Nelson, Ian Skinner '81 and wife Mara Indri, Mike Quzor '81 and Kirstie Miller '82, Dave Goodwin '81 and Kathy Mutchler '81, Paul Wilson '81 and Gwen Mannings '86, all got together with their numerous children at Mt. Tremblant last summer for a group vacation. The previous summer they met at cottages in P.E.I. for a week. This summer's destination is cottages near Parry Sound. Mike and Kirstie reside in Winchester, MA, Paul and Gwen live in Peterborough and are expecting their second child, and Rick and Kathie also live in Peterborough. Dave and Mary live and work in Toronto, and Mara and Ian live in the Ottawa area and are also expecting their second child.

Andrew Petriw '81 and Dr. Phyllis Colton were married June 19, 1999. They are now living in Welland, where Andrew works in the Finance Department of Casino Niagara. Phyllis is employed with the Federal Government in the Veterinary Department. For their honeymoon, a trip was taken to Montreal and Quebec City.

1983

Brandon Kellner '83 sent the Alumni Office a note via the webpage. He and his wife Shelley are pleased to announce the arrival of their first child, Everett William Kellner, born July 12th 1999. Brandon is currently working as a Vancouver firefighter while Shelley is a nurse at the Children's Hospital. Anyone wishing to contact them can do so at brandonk@apexmail.com.

Crystal Aming '83, returned to Bermuda since leaving Trent, received a Master's in Human Resources and Management, and PHR qualifications (Professional in Human Resources). She is currently employed with the Bank of Bermuda as an HR consultant. Crystal is happily married to a Welshman who works in Bermuda as a Police Officer. No children, but lots of money to spend on vacation instead!!! A big HELLO to fellow Otonabee folks.

1984

Lisa Veress-Hush '84 and Graham Hush '85 welcomed Emily Patricia into their family on December 9, 1997. Emily was born at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and weighed 7 lbs. 14oz. Now 18 months she is thriving and becoming quite a character. The whole family may make it to Head of the Trent reunion this year. Lisa and Graham, Emily, and their three dogs continue to enjoy the country life in Georgetown, ON. Graham is working for the Metro Toronto Region Conservation Authority, and Lisa is with Manulife as a service consultant. John Hall '85 and Julie Howes '86 were married and are the proud parents of a daughter, Emily. They are living in Calgary, Alberta where among other things John has co-founded a foundation for Gastro-Intestinal disorders with Trent alumnus Ian Adamson '86.

1985

Rob Warden '85 traveled to Australia with 5 Trent alumni after his graduation. He lived with O.C. alumni Steve Hewitt '85 and Chris Williams '85 in Toronto for three years. In September of 1998 Rob was married to Jody who comes from Montreal. He is currently working with AT&T Canada in marketing and has been with them for four years. He hopes that the frequent contact he's had with O.C. friends continues.

1987

Wendy Henderson (Mitchell) '87 was married to James Henderson in '94, whom she met while teaching in Japan. Since then, they have taught in Japan (again), Portugal, Scotland, and Finland. They now live in Finland and teach business English in companies throughout the country. Summers are spent at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) teaching adults and children from all over the world for intensive language training. Wendy tries to cross the pond to Canada every year in late summer. She'd love to hear from any of the 'old gang' and can be reached at wendyswander@yahoo.com.

1987

James 'Marty Gras' McNairn '87, a House of Rudeness alumnus, is currently living in Toronto and working as the operations manager for a large telemarketing company. After Trent, Marty traveled to Australia with Freddie Van and ended up having a brief career in radio before entering the world of telemarketing. Marty would like to say Hi to fellow House of Rudeness alumni Freddie, Howie, Bic, John, Deano and Shawn.

Brian Purcell '87 & Colleen Ludlow '89 are proud to announce the arrival of Jessica Margaret Ann - their third daughter. Jessie arrived on February 28/98, tipping the scales at 9 lbs 7 oz and is pictured here at one year. Big sister Alison loves her new playmate, and the family is watched over from above by their angel Johanna - April 19/97. Spencerville is still home for the Purcells and everyone is keeping very busy. Brian is selling lots of insurance and Colleen looks after the exporting for Til-Tek Antennas located in Kemptville. 1989

Rosemarie Arndt '89 and Michael Perris would like to proclaim the birth of their son Maximilian, born April 1 1998. After eloping in Cuba in 1997, they returned to Oshawa where they own and operate C.M.P. Auto Service. Although Rose has decided to stay home with her son she will eventually return to teaching and continue her career as a plus size model. 1990

Leslie Welsh (nee Taylor) '90 and Rob Welsh were married in June 1996. On February 9th, 1999, Rob & Leslie had a baby boy, Taylor Wilson Welsh, who weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz. Leslie is currently teaching at Durham Christian Academy. Everyone is doing fine.

Ian Burns '90 went to S.S. Fleming to complete a correctional worker program after graduating from Trent. He has since worked in institutions in Kingston and Gravenhurst. In October of 1998 he applied his Trent degree in Native Studies directly while working on the "Nunavut Project" to prepare the institution for the arrival of Nunavut Territory Federal Inuit offenders. This took him to the Red Deer area, and to the Nunavut capital, Iqaluit. Ian now works with Inuit offenders full time as a developmental Parole Officer for the Fenbrook Institution in Gravenhurst. On a personal note, Ian has met a woman and is engaged to be married in December of 1999. He would like to say hello to all the people who he met while he was a student at Trent.

1991

After graduating from Trent, Andy Bilik '91 completed a Master's Degree in History and International Relations at Western where he also taught for one year. He spent a year working in Belarus and toured parts of Ukraine, Russia, and Asia. From 1996-1998 Andy worked for Ford Motor Co. In the Czech Republic. Currently, Andy is employed as a Management Trainee in the ̃nancial industry where he hopes to build his future. He doubts that anyone would recognize him these days!

Laura Boyd '91 and Andrew Campbell were married on October 4, 1997 in Pickering. They are currently living in their new home in Toronto. Laura works as a supervisor for ACNielsen Canada and Andrew is an account executive for the Ongoing Partnership.

Colin McGandy '91 is based in Burlington and is working as a sales representative for a computer company. He has been doing triathlons. 1992

Could they have planned it any better? Pat McKinnon '92 and Alicia (nee Hesson) McKinnon welcomed Caleb Stuart Michael into the world on Head of the Trent weekend 1998. Caleb was born October 3rd 1998 at 8pm, weighing 9lbs, 4oz. They send greetings to their friends from Trent and would love to hear of any exciting news in their lives. Shannon Hill and Dave Volman (both '92) are to be married on August 1st 1999. Colin McGandy '91 will be standing up for Dave, Rebecca Martin '92 for Shannon and many Trent alumni will be there to celebrate.

Scott Field '92 and Kim (Stuart) Field '93 (above) are thrilled to announce their marriage in Oshawa on August 8th 1998. Trent Alumni in the wedding party included Shanna Holloway '93, Nick Moxam'92, and Jay de Ruiter '92. Dozens more of their Trent friends partook in the festivities and contributed their characteristic Trent Spirit that helped make the wedding a dream come true. Scott and Kim are both teaching with the Durham District School Board and live in Oshawa.

1994

Lori (Higdon) Dawson '94 married wonderful husband Lloyd Dawson. On May 20th 1990, at 7:14 PM, she gave birth to Ryan Paul. Ryan weighed 9lbs 4 oz. Lori is currently working as a bilingual Customer Service Representative for Mizuno Canada. She says hello to fellow Alumni and is looking forward to hearing from any of the old gang soon. Monroe and Heather Young (nee Cowley) '96, are thrilled to announce the birth of their first child, Jack Robert, on April 26, 1999 at Ottawa's Grace Hospital. Jack weighed 9 lbs, 1.5 oz, and was 22 inches long. Everyone is home and doing wonderfully! Email them at
