Meeting Learner Expectations: A Workshop for Secondary School Educators

Event co-sponsored by Trent University's Disability Services Office and the School of Education and Professional Learning

Trent University's Disability Services Officeand the School of Education and Professional Learning are pleased to present "Meeting Learner Expectations: A Workshop for Secondary School Educators" on March 24, 2004 at Gzowski College on Argyle Street.

The workshop will involve 62 intermediate and secondary teacher candidates, as well as about 30 associate teachers, school board officials and School of Education and Professional Learning faculty members. The morning will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude with lunch at 11:15 a.m.

"This workshop will bring together teacher candidates, associate teachers, administrators and instructors for in-depth discussion on meeting learner expectations," says Eunice Lund-Lucas, manager, Trent's Disability Services. "The workshop will promote not only the development of the teacher candidate, but will provide insight into meeting the varying expectations of their future students in the classroom."

Workshop presenters are Disability Services staff members including a learning strategist and several academic coaches. The morning is sponsored as an innovation project by the Learning Opportunities Task Force, Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
