Trent University Hosts Paul Lewis, CEO, Discovery Channel: February 26

Mr. Lewis to speak on the subject 'Science Meets Entertainment'

Trent University*s Champlain College is delighted to be hosting Paul Lewis, CEO of the Discovery Channel, on Thursday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Champlain College Council Chambers.

Mr. Lewis will speak on the subject "Science Meets Entertainment," exploring the relationship between science and popular television programming. The talk will be supported by video presentations. All are welcome to attend. Admission is free of charge.

Mr. Lewis is president and general manager of Discovery Channel Canada. He is responsible for all programming and production, and oversees Discovery Civilization, Animal Planet, CTV Travel, Exploration Production Inc., and Exploration Distribution Inc. Shortly after joining the Discovery Channel in 1994, Mr. Lewis help to create the world's first daily science magazine show, @discovery.ca, which became Daily Planet in 2002.

A Ryerson University journalism graduate, Mr. Lewis is currently president and director of the World Congress of Science Producers.
