Ontario Universities and Guidance Counsellors meet at Trent University
May 27, 2003
Two hundred guidance counsellors from throughout Eastern Ontario will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from nineteen Ontario universities today through "Regional Dialogues" held at Trent University.
Regional Dialogues is an annual event that gives high school guidance counsellors a chance to hear the latest information about university programs and facilities. Four regional single-day meetings are being held at universities around the province today; the eastern Ontario region Regional Dialogue is taking place at Trent.
Trent University Registrar Susan Salusbury, who is also president of the Ontario University Registrars Association, was pleased that Trent University was selected to host the Regional Dialogues. "It’s a great opportunity to exchange information with guidance counsellors and with other Universities," she said. "And it’s also a great time to showcase Trent University. The campus is in full bloom and our new buildings on the east bank are really looking impressive."
The day’s events will be held at Wenjack Theatre and feature a welcome by president Bonnie Patterson, break-out sessions with various universities, and a luncheon. John Michel, a Senior Policy Adviser with the Policy and Programs Unit of from the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities will also be in attendance.
