Trent University to host Health Fair for students, staff and faculty: February 11 Trent University Health Services in co-operation with dozens of local health agencies will host students, staff and faculty at the Health Fair on February 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Champlain College's Great Hall. "This is an excellent opportunity for students, in particular, to connect with the community on health and healthy lifestyle issues," says Janet Schmidt, Trent's health educator. Exhibits will feature an array of health-related topics, including fitness, nutrition, travel health, stress management and complementary medicine. The Health Fair will create a casual, non-threatening environment in which individuals will be encouraged to collect health information. "It's an important time to promote wellness. In the students, we've got long-term lives coming along here," says Ms. Schmidt. "We want to have the information available to people when they decide to make changes and students are making more decisions on their own than they have before." Posted February 10, 2004 |
