Trent University Reaches Three-Year Collective Agreement with Teaching Assistants

(Peterborough) Trent University, along with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 3908 Unit 2, is pleased to announce a settlement has been reached following negotiations to renew a collective agreement, which expired on August 31, 2005.

The collective agreement, which applies to the period from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2008, includes a general wage increase of three per cent effective September 1, 2005. A further three per cent wage increase will apply on September 1, 2006 and again on September 1, 2007.

Members of CUPE Local 3908 Unit 2 include graduate teaching assistants (full and part-time), academic assistants and student markers as well as undergraduate academic assistants, computer lab advisors and student markers.
