Trent to Host 35th Peterborough Regional Science Fair on April 12, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 22, 2005 - Peterborough

The Peterborough Regional Science Fair, to be held at Trent University on April 12, 2005, is fast approaching, and all interested participants are reminded that entry forms need to be submitted to the University by Thursday March 31, 2005.

Last year's Regional Science Fair attracted more than 350 participants, from Kindergarten to OAC. These students represented more than 20 schools in the Peterborough region.

The Peterborough area has a strong reputation for sending high-calibre students to the Canada Wide Science Fair. We can be proud of the achievements of several area students who have brought home awards ranging from honourable mention to gold. This year, the CWSF will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, May 15 – 22.

Many Trent University and community volunteers give their time and expertise to judge the projects on the day of the fair. Judges have the difficult task of evaluating projects, identifying those of the highest merit, while maintaining a positive experience for all students. Awards will be given out in the Wenjack Theatre at 3:30pm.

Details about entering the Fair, or becoming a sponsor, can be found at: http://home.lakefieldcs.on.ca/sciencefair
