Youth and Poverty Topic of Social Issues Series Talk

Two local support workers will speak about youth and poverty at the Lady Eaton College Social Issues Series at Trent University on November 10, 2005.

Susanne Kuhlmorgen-Hille, project coordinator for the transitional housing support program at the Youth Emergency Shelter of Peterborough and Peter Newnham, housing support worker will present "The Face of Poverty – Look in the Mirror What Can You Do?"

The talk will include topics such as:

  • Youth and poverty – who are they?
  • Circumstances barriers and detrimental effects of poverty;
  • Poverty case scenarios; and,
  • Programs to assist youth in need.

All are welcome to the series, which will take place in the Lady Eaton College Senior Common Room at 7 p.m.
