More than 100 students from 47 countries participate in TIP Camp
Through the leadership of TIP staff members, the students also developed a sense of what nature means to Canadians, as they took part in canoeing, rock wall climbing and swimming. Many of these new students arrived at TIP Camp directly from the airport, so the weekend was a compilation of new and exciting experiences and an opportunity for those who don't speak English on a regular basis, to express themselves in the language.

More than 100 new Trent University students from 47 countries took part in an intensive orientation experience September 3 - 6 at Camp Kawartha. At the Trent International Program (TIP) Camp, students learned about Canadian culture and life at Trent, as they prepared for the upcoming academic year. The world was represented there - from Aruba to Zimbabwe - with students also there from Guinea-Conakry, Ukraine, Jamaica, and among other Latin American countries, Uruguay.
"Most importantly this weekend, the students made friends with Canadians and other students from around the world, started to develop the relationships that will provide the lens through which they will see Peterborough, Trent and Canada," says Michael Allcott, director, TIP.
