Walkhome student safety survey is on-line

Trent's yearly Walkhome Program Safety Survey is on-line at www.trentu.ca/admin/walkhome/SafetyS03.htm and students are encouraged to take the time to respond. Also available at the Walkhome Program office and through the colleges, the safety survey is intended to find out how students feel about the safety of their campus, says Suzane Hughes, of the Walkhome Program.

Last year more than 650 survey responses were received, which aided Walkhome in developing its program. Questions on this year's survey focus on student safety experiences and respondents are asked for their recommendations and suggestions. The survey responses will help Walkhome stay in touch with safety and security needs.

Walkhome is a student organization for use by anyone associated with Trent University. In short, its purpose is to make sure individuals get home safely. In working toward this goal, Walkhome and other safety organizations at Trent perform many services for the community. These include safe walks home, as well as safety checks, visibility walks and surveys, such as the one currently underway.

Walkhome provides a safe walk home after dark for anyone at Trent - seven days a week from September to April, from Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
