Support from TD Financial Group and TD Meloche Monnex for Trent University presented August 13

TD Meloche Monnex and TD Financial Group presented two separate cheques to Trent University on Wednesday, August 13 in the Garden Room of Peterborough’s Holiday Inn at 1:00 p.m.

The first presentation was the TD Bank Financial Group Bursary. The bursary was established with a donation of $71,500 to help Computer Science students who demonstrate financial need. A cheque for $14,300 was presented and represents the fourth of five instalments towards the donation.

The occasion also paid tribute to Joe Teft, a 2003 Trent Graduate who won the $25,000 TD Meloche Monnex Advancement Fellowship in June. The fellowship was awarded to three candidates across Canada. It allows a young university graduate to work in four areas of university advancement during the one-year appointment. Under the fellowship, Mr. Teft currently works with the Alumni Affairs, Development, Registrar’s and Communications offices at Trent University. The fellowship is generously donated by TD Financial Group and Meloche Monnex, as part of their significant and ongoing support of the educational advancement field in Canada.

Presenting the cheque from TD was Tim Hockey - Executive Vice President, TD Canada Trust and Heather Larke, District VP, Peterborough. Accepting the cheque on behalf of Trent University was Susan Mackle, VP Advancement, Susan Salusbury, Registrar, and fellowship recipient Joe Teft.
