Know Your Student Number

Have you noticed a 7-digit number on all the Trent admissions letters and emails you’ve received? That’s your official Trent student number. And while you won’t feel like just a number on our campus, your unique student ID number is what gives you access to important information about your degree, student services and campus events, and is also required for writing exams. So keep your number handy—and if you can—memorize it!

Set Up Your MyTrent Account

MyTrent is your student portal, giving you direct access to your academic records, email, information about coursework and more. You can activate your MyTrent account using your student number and personal email address.

A Gmail icon will appear in your account on the MyTrent portal (trentu.ca/mytrent) approx. 3-months prior to the start of your courses at Trent. Once your email is active, you’ll start to receive all your Trent info at this email. Your profs will email you here as well.

Choose Your College

Trent colleges are small local communities that promote learning, embrace diversity, and can lead to friendships that last a lifetime. Your college will serve as your “home away from home”; a place where you can connect with other students, faculty and staff in a fun and informal setting. Everyone is a part of a college at our Peterborough campus, regardless of whether you commute or live in residence. When course registration opens, choose a college based on what speaks to your interests, and feel free to switch affiliation if you make a connection in a different college.

If you'll be living in residence, your college is where you live.
