Human resources associate V-P named

David Mahy, a human resources specialist with more than 25 years experience in the field, has been appointed Associate Vice-President, Human Resources for Trent University. His appointment is effective Sept. 11.

Mahy comes to Trent from Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care, where he was responsible for employee and labour relations. He takes over from Brian Siegner, who has just completed two six-month terms as interim Associate Vice-President.

Sally Young, Vice-President, Administration said Mahy brings to the position extensive skills in team building, contract negotiation, arbitration, benefit plan design and information systems. He has worked in both the private and public sector across Canada and the U.S.

She commended Siegner for his valuable contribution and noted that he will remain at Trent while a departmental restructuring is being put in place.
