Trent University's award winning Web site can add another medal to its collecion. The Virtual Tour, which features the latest Internet technology in a variety of mult-media segments, has been awarded the bronze medal for the best e-innovation in public affairs, communciations and marketing by the Canadian Council for the Advancement in Education (CCAE).

The tour was developed in response to research and focus group surveys of new and current students. Findings indicated ospective students want basic information about where they are going to live, where they will eat, what they could study, the campus look, and what class sizes they can expect.

The Communications Department, Michael Cullen '82 and Lisbeth Shaw-Cullen '83 of Trent Photographics, and Trent Radio collaborated on the virtual tour.

Trent's WWW Communications Developer Maureen Wideman MA '97 led the virtual tour marketing initiative. Last year she accepted the CCAE gold award in 2000 when Trent's home page was judged the best institutional home page in the country. It was the second time the university has won the top award.

Wideman will be presented with the bronze award in June in Montreal.

The tour is located at www.trentu.ca/tours.
