1966

J. David Barron '66 became a grandfather on June 13, 2000 when Matthew William Barron was born to his son, Jonathon Barron and Kristina Ching.

1967

Doug Vaisey (Sr.) '67 sends a postcard from the Borth Youth Hostel in mid-Wales while he taking part in a millennium trek as part of his 22nd visit to the United Kingdom. Doug was greatly enjoying the challenges of an almost 300 mile walk along the Pembrokeshire coast.

1975

Graeme Stewart '75 and wife Cathy Johnston have moved to Sackville, New Brunswick...Graeme's long ago home-town. Graeme and Cathy now have 2 sons, Liam, age 4, and Marshall, age 2, to keep them up at night, and being gluttons for punishment, still hold hope for a third child. Graeme and Cathy share a practice in family medicine in Sackville and live in a house abutting the beautiful Tantra Marshes (the windswept lowland between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia). It's a great place to visit, so will someone please tell Gilhooly to get his butt down here for a visit! (Actually, that invite is open for any of Graeme's old Otonabee pals...Come on down!)

1978

For Gordon Copp '78 and Elizabeth Sierkowska-Copp, the year 2000 was a big one. In January, they found out that a long-awaited pregnancy had arrived, followed by the birth of Michaela Lillianna Copp on September 17. Michaela is a happy little girl, in other words she sleeps a fair amount, so everyone is pleased. The end of 2000 brings a change in job and country, with Gordon taking up a Senior Researcher position with the French government's hydrobiology station in Thonon-les-Bains on Lake Geneva. He will focus on fish recruitment problems in sub-alpine lakes. Elizabeth will be looking to continue her graphic design and art career in Geneva. 1979

Maile Loweth Reeves '79 and her husband Mark welcomed their second child, Connor Douglas Reeves, on August 28, 1999. He is pictured here with his sister, Bridget. Maile and Mark had moved to Aurora, Ontario just six days prior to Connor's birth, and now live only five minutes away from Maile's sister, Jennifer Loweth-Reeves '82 and Mark's brother Brent Reeves '85. Maile is now working for SRB International as a Documentation Writer. She can be reached at maile@idirect.com.

1982

Mary Crawford '82 and her husband Frank are the proud parents of Andre Pallota.

1983

Brandon Kellner '83 is pleased to announce the birth of his baby boys (not twins!), Everett William Kellner, born June 12 1999 and Trent Douglas Kellner, Born June 27, 2000. Brandon is decorating for his youngest son's room with a Trent theme... Congratulations Brandon!

1984

Stephen Jarvis '84 and his wife, Dr. Lori Collins-Jarvis, are pleased to announce the birth of their twins Stephanie Anne and William Peter. Both Steve and Lori became naturalized American citizens this year. They reside in Redondo Beach, California with their dog Kodi.

1985

Jeannette Edwards '85 and Blaine Hewson '83 are thrilled to announce their second team member, Andrew Steven Charles, born July 30, 2000. The Hewson family resides in Barrie, Ontario and enjoys keeping in touch with their Trent friends.

Allan Moore '85 and his family survived the devastating effects of Hurricane Keith which struck their home country of Belize (Central America) this fall. Allan, who has held the British Chevening Scholarship from the British High Commission in Belize, has been studying archaeology at the University College London (UK). In 1999, he completed his studies with a dissertation on Maya Archaeology and received his Ph. D. Recently he was appointed to head the Belize Department of Archaeology as Archaeological Commissioner. He is married to Nancy and has three children, Kayleigh, age 11, Allan Andrew, age 8 and Ian age 6. He sends greetings to his Trent classmates (especially from OC), and his appreciation to Prof. Paul Healy and wife Doreen '90 , for their hospitality as "foster parents" during his years in Canada. As Commissioner, Allan expects the close, and longstanding, working relations between Belize Department of Archaeology and Trent's Department of Anthropology will continue.

1986

Bill Graves '86 and Theresa Fitzgerald '86 are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter, Carmen Ava Fitzgerald Graves. Carmen was born June 26, 2000 at the Grand River Hospital. Thankfully, Carmen likes to sleep just as much as Mom and Dad, and has made life easy for all.

Lachlan Parker '86 is now living in Australia where he works as a journalist with the National Broadcaster, ABC. He married another journalist, a South African by the name of Lou Hendricks. On June 16, 2000, (a month early!) Lachlan and Lou were blessed with the birth of their daughter Thasa Ruby Hendricks.

1987

Kathy Hardman '87 and Jeff Hingston are pleased to announce the safe arrial of their son, William Carlyle Harman-Hingston. Will was born Wednesady, January 17 at 7:06 am in Owen Sound. He weighed 9lbs 13oz and measured 21 inches in length. Will is looking forward to meeting his 'Aunt" Susan from Calgary and "Aunt" Tracey who isn't far away in Wasaga Beach.

1988

In June, Cathy McNamara '88 became the first full-time Community Planner for the District of Tofino on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island. BC. Located on the north side of the Pacific Rim National Park and within Clayoqout Sound, Tofino is a unique small town at the end of the Trans Canada Highway. After 4 years (and fires and floods) in the Okanagan Valley it was time to return to the ocean. She has already bumped into Brian '87 and Stephanie '91 Jones While they were visiting the area. Cathy says "Greetings to all - drop in and say hi if you are ever one of the 1 million visitors a year to the area."

John Nicholas '88, wife Kristel and daughter Jazlin live at Albert college in Belleville. John and Kristel would love to hear from the old gang from Champlain College (Bone, Rico, Jay etc.)

1989

Meghan Earley '89 has been working as a faculty member in special education at the University College of the Caribou in the Interior of BC for 6 years now. She is presently in the Masters if Education program through the University of Calgary.

1990

Geoff Noyes '90 and Tanya (Baril) Noyes '90 welcomed their third child; Gavin Daniel to their family on May 19th, 2000. He is adored by his older sister Blake, age 4, and brother Brayden, age 2. Tanya enjoys being a stay at home mom in their home in Maitland, Ontario.

1992

Married December 12, 1998, Tracey Hamilton '92 and Bill Eekhof are now pleased to announce the arrival of their first child. Nicholas Andrew Eekhof was born October 2, 2000 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, weighing 7lb 15oz. SS #18 

1993

Caleb Smith '93 and Danielle Artelle are planning to marry June 30, 2001 in Beamsville, Ontario. Caleb has spent the last year teaching grade seven in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Jessica Radke '93 graduated from NYU School of Law in May 2000 and received a National Association of the Public Interest Law (NAOIL) Fellowship to start a new project in Northern Maine helping women become economically self-sufficient. This program is called the Women's Economic Justice Project. Jessica will be providing legal support and teach community education classes. Letting women know about their legal rights and helping them use them. The co-sponsors of the fellowship are the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation and the Maine Bar Foundation. This program, will last for two years.

1996

On July 24, 1999, Karin Penny '96 married Todd Nie in Orillia. Karin and Todd met at Teacher's College in Buffalo. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. Karin's best friend from Trent, Kerri-Ann Cooper '92 shared the maid of honour duties with Karin's sister, Kristi. Trent friends in attendance included Chris '92 and Melanie Lee '92. Karin and Todd reside in Orillia. Karin is teaching Grade 1 and Todd is teaching Grade 5. Todd and Karin are looking forward to Kerri-Ann's wedding on August 12, 2000!

Graduate Alumni...

Jeralyne Manweiler and Paul Ellerman (MA, 2000) are engaged to be married and the date is set - August 4th, 2001. They met at the Frost Centre at Trent as Grad Students.
