Parks Canada Project Near Nassau Mills Road bridge
Starting as early as Monday, December 4, 2017, a Parks Canada project will begin to clear brush and trees in the area south of the Nassau Mills Road bridge that crosses over the canal. This project will install key infrastructure and reduce the risk of flood damage along the canal corridor through the City of Peterborough, in the event of a major flooding event.
The work will continue throughout the winter months, and into the spring. It will be completed prior to the reopening of the canal in 2018.
The actual work will be on Parks Canada land, however, staging areas for the work will be on, and cross over Trent land.
