Welcome Lynda.com to our Services
Dear Faculty and Staff,
We are pleased to announce that Trent University has now licensed Lynda.com for use by all faculty and staff, at no cost to employee or department. Lynda.com is a web-based training service that allows access to courses on many different topics. The intent of this service is to allow faculty and staff to develop their information technology skills further. This service is offered in addition to the face to face training opportunities that maybe offered in the future by Information Technology or Human Resources.
Faculty and staff have access to the entire Lynda.com catalogue. From time to time, Information Technology or Human Resources may make specific course recommendations that we feel are timely as certain services are rolled out or needs are identified. Additionally, managers are encouraged to review the courses available to their employees and make recommendations on courses that they feel could benefit their development.
Some of the topics covered by Lynda.com include; Windows 7 & 8, Mac OS x, Office 2007, 2010,2013, Mac Office 2011, Programming Languages, Computer Assisted Design, Drupal, iPhone/iPad, just to name a few. In fact, Lynda.com is not restricted to information technology based courseware, but also offers courses in Business. We encourage you to explore some of the 2,146 courses in 108,000 tutorials available. A list of courses by subject can be found at:

Lynda.com adds courses weekly to their catalogue. They were chosen by Trent University due to their very current catalogue and the speed at which this catalogue is updated. Additionally, Lynda.com will run from anywhere and on almost any of your devices; Windows PC, Mac Computer, iPhone, iPad, and Android.
