New Self-Service Password Reset Tool
Dear Faculty/Staff/Alumni,
Trent University has adopted a new Self-Service Password Reset tool. This tool will allow you to reset your Trent password which applies to such services as; myTrent, E-mail, Learning System, Desktop Access, etc.
The Trent Self-Service Password Reset tool eliminates the need for phone calls or in-person visits. Effective immediately, if you forget your password, you can create a new password online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you forget your username, password, or even your student / staff ID number, we can authenticate you by sending you a unique code to a pre-configured non-Trent e-mail address and/or a mobile phone number.
In order to use this tool, you will need to register either a non-Trent e-mail address and/or a mobile phone number with us that can be used during the reset process. To do so, log into the myTrent portal, and browse to Tools -> Tools -> Update Profile, or go directly to the Update Profile form.
By default, student, applicant, and alumni accounts are pre-populated with the pre-existing e-mail address provided to us during the application process (if available).
For staff and faculty, or for students and alumni for whom we do not have an external e-mail address on file, the value is pre-populated with your regular Trent e-mail address. You MUST update this to an external e-mail address, or provide a mobile phone number as an alternative, since you will not be able to log into your Trent e-mail account without your password.
You can refer to the Self-Service Password Reset Help sheet for more information. Resetting a lost or forgotten password has never been easier.
