Teaching Fellowships

The Trent Teaching Fellowship program fosters leadership and innovation in teaching by enabling full-time faculty with tenured or tenure-track appointments to develop meaningful and sustained initiatives in the areas of teaching, educational leadership, and scholarship on teaching and learning. Each fellowship comes with a one-time grant of $6,000 over a three-year period to support the Trent Teaching Fellows in embarking upon teaching scholarship, curriculum leadership and/or teaching innovation through implementing a specific teaching and learning initiative.

The Teaching Fellows will not only study a particular aspect of teaching in their area of expertise/interest, but they will also offer workshops to colleagues and initiate a professional learning circle. Fellows are named as a Teaching Fellow for the three-year period, provided they retain their connection with Trent University.

The Trent Teaching Fellowships offer a catalyst for change and innovation in teaching and learning within Trent while providing fellows an opportunity for educational leadership. The Teaching Fellowship program is designed to elevate the status of teaching while positively impacting student learning, engagement, retention, and success.
