- Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching (1980-81)
A number of books and journal articles about the work of Christopher Marlowe have been written by Professor Emeritus Fred Tromly. As a professor of English literature at Trent University, he taught a full range of courses including first year English.
In teaching, Prof. Tromly was known for his genuine concern for students and their studies, his enthusiasm for learning, and his dedication to scholarship. He retired from Trent’s Department of English literature in June 2008.
Dr. Tromly holds a B.A. from Grinnell University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
