Become a Field Instructor

Field Instructor Criteria

Field Instructors must have two years of experience in the Field and ideally have a Bachelors of Social Work. If a Field Instructors does not have a BSW or MSW, The Department of Social Work provides additional Social Work support/supervision to students. Field Instructors must also have the capacity to provide an hour of direct supervision to students per week.

Fourth Year Placements (September 2023 to April 2024): The Trent Social Work Department is currently recruiting Field Instructors for fourth year placements for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. If you're interested in being a Field Instructor please complete the survey by March 30th, 2023. Third Year Placements (January 2024 to April 2024): Recruitment for Field Instructors/Agencies will begin in October 2023. Interested parties are welcome to add their information to the recruitment list by emailing Travis Peck, Field Education Coordinator at travispeck@trentu.ca
