Making a Difference: Choices and Challenges in the Non Profit Sector

Join Habitat for Humanity Canada's V.P. Affiliate Services, Maureen Crawford, a Trent alumnus, for this timely lecture presented by the TCSA and the Trent University Alumni Association

On Friday, January 27 at 7 p.m. Maureen Crawford, Habitat for Humanity Canada's Vice President – Affiliate Services, will be delivering a talk on her involvement and experiences in the not-for-profit sector as well as providing tips on how people in the community can get more involved. The lecture will take place at Gzowski College in Room 117 and will be followed by a reception, providing an opportunity for attendees to speak with Ms. Crawford as well as members of the Peterborough Habitat for Humanity Division.

Ms. Crawford graduated from Trent in 1981 with a BBA. After working for IBM and Bell Canada in sales and customer service, she began volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Edmonton and went on to serve as the chair of the board in Calgary and as a representative on the National Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Canada (HFHC). In 2000 she became HFHC's Western Affiliate Director before accepting the position of Vice President – Affiliate Services in 2002.

In her current role, Ms. Crawford is responsible for supporting affiliates of HFHC in all ten provinces and in the Yukon. As part of her portfolio, she also supervises Campus Chapters and Youth programs, Global Village programs, Women Build, and Faith Relations.

The lecture and reception are open to the public and free to attend. Any donations collected will be given to Habitat for Humanity Peterborough.
