Northwestern University Professor to Give Lecture at Trent

Dr. Bonnie HonigDr. Bonnie Honig, a professor of Political Science at Northwestern University in the United States will give a lecture at Traill College, Trent University on Thursday, December 1, 2005.

Her talk is titled, "The Time of Rights: Emergent Thoughts in an Emergency Setting."

Prof. Honig is a senior research fellow with the American Bar Foundation. She specializes in contemporary political theory, democratic theory and feminist theory.

She has written and edited numerous books. Her most recent work is focused on the paradox of constitutional democracy and the tensions between rule of law and administrative discretion.

Prof. Honig is a past recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Center for Advanced Studies in Behavioral Sciences at Stanford, and the Bunting Institute at Radcliffe.

The event is being sponsored by the Centre for the Study of Theory, Culture and Politics. The lecture will be held at the Traill College Lecture Hall at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
