Together, WE make a difference:
Trent's United Way Campaign Launches

On October 5, Trent University's United Way campaign will kick off with a barbecue from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on the bridge-level outside Champlain College. Hot dogs, hamburgers and pop will be served by celebrity chefs including Mayor Sylvia Sutherland, Executive Director, Peterborough and District United Way Len Lifchus, United Way 2004 Campaign Chair Gary Rabjohn and President Bonnie Patterson. Campaign co-chairs Julie Crook and Prof. Erica Nol will be on-hand, as will The New Star 93.3.

A hamburger or veggie burger and pop will cost $3.50 while a hot dog or veggie dog and a pop will be $3. Thanks to Aramark Canada all proceeds from the barbecue will go toward the campaign total.

Also at the barbecue, there will be opportunities to try mini-putting -- two dollars will get you three chances to putt and an opportunity to win fabulous golf prizes.

Last year, due to the generosity of University faculty and staff members and retirees, the $52,000 campaign goal was exceeded. The goal has been raised to $53,000 for this year, so take note of the rising thermometer at the entrance to the Symons Campus.
