Follow your forte to a Trent club or group
Clubs and Groups Day: Wednesday, September 3

If you don’t sing anywhere but in the shower, you’re not interested in debate and you don’t believe there’s anything "great" about the outdoors, you can still get involved at Trent University this fall. With more than 50 clubs and groups in existence, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

To find out for yourself, come to Introductory Seminar Week’s (ISW’s) Clubs and Groups Day on September 3 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. outside the Bata Library. There, Trent clubs and groups will showcase themselves, looking to take-on first-year students.

"Clubs and Groups Day is a great way to find out what’s out there and to get involved from the get-go," says Catherine Dickinson, Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) Executive Director, suggesting all first-year students get involved.

"I think it absolutely enriches your student experience -- to be involved in something. There’s something for everyone."

However, if your club-of-choice doesn’t happen to exist, you can start it up. Information on how to start a new club or group will also be available.

ISW provides first-year students with the opportunity to learn about the campus, the city and most importantly, to get to know their fellow students. Clubs and Groups Day is one way the TCSA reaches out to first-year students, giving them a taste of the things they can take part in. They’re encouraged to come to the day as well, to meet the more than 200 returning students involved in the administration of clubs and groups.

The day will wrap-up with a barbecue for first-year students.
