Trent University joins with Canada’s university community in offering its condolences to those who lost friends and family in the crash of the Ukrainian International Airlines Flight 752 in Iran, including our colleagues at Fleming College and Ontario Tech University, as well as many other Canadian institutions mourning the loss of members of their community.
“This tragedy has far-reaching repercussions across the country. They will deeply affect Canada’s closely interconnected community of educational institutions,” said Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent. “On behalf of Trent, I wish to extend our sympathies to all who have been affected by this devastating event, including our own Iranian community both on and off-campus.”
On Wednesday, January 15 – one week following the crash of UIA752 – members of the Trent community are invited to join colleagues across the country to find a moment in your day to remember those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
