#FacesOfTrentU: Masters Student Set Up for Success in Management
Meet Sameen Abid, Master of Management student at the Durham campus
“What I was looking for was a broader view of things I had studied in as an undergrad in economics and finance. I wanted to do something that had a more in-depth view of the many facets of management, that would help me grow professionally and find a career overseas or in Canada.”
Sameen Abid is part of the first cohort of Master of Management students at Trent University Durham GTA . As an international student from Pakistan, Ms. Abid feels this program is helping to reveal a new, exciting career path.
What does she love most about the program? “There are a lot of different people from different backgrounds and cultures. Everyone in our program has done something different in their undergrad. There are people from engineering backgrounds, people from the arts, theatre, and medicine. So a lot of different ideas and perspectives come into play.”
With a foundation in digital marketing through her work experience back home, Ms. Abid hopes to develop her career further with the help of this professional masters program.
“All of my experience is from back home, so I wanted to get into the Canadian job market and having a Canadian degree helps me with that. This program is recognized worldwide, so my opportunities are not limited, they’re not constrained and that means I have a lot to look forward to.”
