Student-run Digital Marketing Firm Begins New Partnership with FastStart
TrentWorks adopted by FastStart
TrentWorks is on the move! Sofie Andreou & Associates have passed on the torch of the student-run TrentWorks digital marketing firm to FastStart, re-launching the successful program with seven new highly-skilled Trent University students.
The TrentWorks digital marketing firm first began in 2013 with the goal of facilitating in the employment of the brightest Trent students. By giving students the opportunity to help organizations leverage the power of the Internet, TrentWorks launches students’ careers in digital marketing. This re-launch looks to continue the firm’s success and growth.
“I know that Peterborough is the place to live, play and prosper. Through TrentWorks, I hope that these students make Peterborough their permanent homes after graduating,” says Sofie Andreou. “I would like to give our business community the opportunity to benefit from their passion and skills now, while giving these students the guidance and place to launch their company. I am beyond delighted that FastStart has agreed to be their future headquarters! It’s a perfect match.”
This year, seven undergraduates majoring in Business and Computer Science have been hand-picked for the firm and have all participated in Ms. Andreou’s online marketing class at Trent University. The group will complete projects such as designing websites, creating content, and will work on integrated digital campaigns.
“What I am looking forward to most is the chance to be creative,” says fourth-year Business Administration student Katrina Cappelli. “My role at Trent Works is basically a social media marketing consultant. I will be helping local businesses to coordinate their social media marketing endeavors and creating digital market campaigns for them. I can’t wait to come up with amazing ideas for videos and social media campaigns and actually bring them to life.”
The TrentWorks headquarters will remain close to home in the Cube incubator in Trent University’s DNA Building, allowing students to have meetings with clients and work with other business people in the community.
