Trent University Celebrates Leadership & Volunteerism with New Community Award
Members of Peterborough & Durham communities invited to nominate faculty or staff members at Trent for new award
The newly-minted Trent Community Leadership Award, which recognizes the significant impact Trent University faculty and staff have on their local communities through their leadership and volunteerism, is now open to the Trent and broader communities for nominations.
“Our faculty and staff not only make our university strong, they help make our communities strong through their personal involvement with local organizations, teams, agencies and clubs. We know that more than 250 local groups and charities already benefit from the time, talents and generosity of Trent employees,” said Julie Davis, vice president, External Relations & Advancement. “We are introducing this award to encourage and recognize those who get involved, increasing the strength of our communities.”
Members of the Trent community, along with residents of Peterborough and Durham are encouraged to nominate a faculty or staff member who is involved in the community and is a strong representative of the University. All Trent staff and faculty working at either the Peterborough or Durham campus are eligible for the Trent Community Leadership Award. The nomination period closes on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
The inaugural Trent Community Leadership Award will be presented during the annual Heart of Trent employee appreciation event. Nomination forms and award eligibility criteria are available online at trentu.ca/communityrelations.
Completed nominations and any questions should be directed to Alison Scholl, Community Relations officer, alisonscholl@trentu.ca or 705-748-1011 x6344. The Trent Community Leadership Award is coordinated by the Community Relations office within the department of External Relations & Advancement.
