Trent President Bonnie Patterson today presented recognition plaques to managers of Peterborough's Shoppers Drug Mart locations in honour of the company's $150,000 donation towards Otonabee College renovations.

Trent received a cheque for $30,000 earlier this month as the fourth of five installments towards the $150,000 donation toward the university's Beyond Our Walls Campaign. Recognition plaques were presented to Bob Bond, Manager of Shoppers on Lansdowne Street, Hani Fam, Associate Manager of the Chemong Street store and Jim Carter, Front Shop Manager of the George Street location. Mike Hyde from the Chemong St. store was unable to attend.

"The Shoppers Drug Mart donation is a significant contribution towards the improvements required at Otonabee College which include a new lecture hall, seminar rooms and teleconference facility," said Ms. Patterson. "Donations from corporate citizens like Shoppers help to ensure quality academic facilities for our students."

The Beyond Our Walls Campaign has raised more than $17 million and has included the establishment of almost 100 scholarships, bursaries and awards.
