Exploring motherhood in pioneer Ontario through art

An illustrated talk by nationally-recognized artist Michele Karch-Ackerman will take place at Trent University's Private Dining Room in Champlain College on March 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Ms. Karch-Ackerman is Artist-in-Residence at Champlain. Her latest works, on exhibition at Artspace, is entitled "The Sweet Breath of Trees." The show explores issues of nature, infant mortality and motherhood in pioneer Ontario.

Ms. Karch-Ackerman is an installation artist whose work has been exhibited in major galleries in Toronto and across Canada. She has been artist-in-residence at Champlain College several times, and her current show at Artspace is co-sponsored by the College.

There is no charge for this event and all are welcome. There is a reception following the talk to meet the artist. For more information call (705) 748-1237.
