TRENT UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF THE ONTARIO UNIVERSITY REGISTRARS’ ASSOCIATION

Trent University is pleased to announce that Registrar Susan Salusbury is now the president of the Ontario University Registrars’ Association (OURA).

OURA is an association of Ontario university registrars, and staff involved with admissions, records, computer systems, recruitment, financial aid and graduate studies. OURA provides policy advice to government ministries and to the Council of Ontario Universities, and organizes professional development opportunities for OURA members. All Ontario universities are members of OURA, which has strong ties with the Ontario Universities' Application Centre and the Ontario Universities' Council on Admissions.

Ms. Salusbury served as vice president of the organization this past year, and is pleased to step into the role of president.

"I am excited about the opportunities provided through this experience, to work with colleagues throughout Ontario and across the country. I am also pleased to bring Trent’s name forward through the work I do in this organization - that is important to me," says Ms. Salusbury. "There are a number of very important OURA projects underway, such as a complete review of the collective recruitment activities undertaken by all universities in the province. As well, part of the work we’ll be doing this year is to help prepare for the Association of Registrars of Universities and Colleges of Canada conference, to be held in Ontario in 2004."
