Varsity Athletes Excel Academically

At Trent University, being athletic doesn’t come at the expense of being academic. The proof is in the 50 Trent athletes being honoured for their academic prowess at Trent University at 7:00 p.m. November 21st at the Multi-Purpose Room, Athletic Complex.

The annual event recognizes Trent students who participate in varsity sports and achieve a high level of academic success. CIS Academic All-Canadians and the recipients of the OUA Academic Achievement Award will be honoured at the reception.

University President Bonnie Patterson lauds the academic achievements of the students. "These Trent students demonstrate admirable balance in their lives," commented President Patterson. "The Trent environment allows for a combination of physical and intellectual development and the students being honoured on Thursday have excelled in both areas."

Trent University competes in thirteen varsity sports within the Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union, Ontario University Athletics, and at the club level.
