Date: July 29, 1998
It is with sincere regret that I write to inform you of the passing today of
our friend and colleague, Professor Robert (Bob) Annett. Visitation will be held
Friday, July 31 from 2 -4 and 7 -9 p.m. at Kaye's Funeral Home, 539 George St. N. The funeral service will be
held Saturday, August 1 at 1 p.m. at Kaye's.
In lieu of flowers, his family has asked that donations be made to the
Robert Annett Scholarship Fund. Cheques for this purpose may be made out to
Trent University c/o Otonabee College and delivered to the college office or
Kaye's Funeral Home.
Bob was born in Windsor and received a B.Sc. and PhD from the
University of Windsor. Prior to joining Trent, he was a research assistant at the
University of Windsor.
He most recently served Trent as Master of Otonabee College, a position
he took over in 1994 after four years as the college's senior tutor. He served on
the editorial boards of scientific journals and was active on many university
committees. He was also a past-president of the Kinsmen Club, a member of the
Trident Underwater Club and assistant scuba diving instructor.
He taught chemistry, biochemistry and environmental science at Trent since 1968
and pursued clinical and theoretical research in enzymology.
I know you will join me in extending the Trent Community's sympathy and
support to Bob's family.
