Scholars Portal Dataverse Becomes Borealis

New Website Launching Soon

Scholars Portal Borealis Logo

Scholars Portal Dataverse is becoming Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository / le dépôt Dataverse canadien. The new name and logo reflect Borealis’s identity as a national service connecting 60 affiliated institutions across Canada.

Trent University’s Dataverse Collection is hosted on Borealis. The name and appearance of the repository are changing, but the core service remains the same. Borealis is still the place where you can store, share, publish and discover research data, and Trent Library will continue to provide support.

Researchers with existing accounts on Trent Dataverse can continue to use the same credentials in Borealis and all DOIs will continue to resolve to the appropriate data set.

Borealis is a bilingual, multidisciplinary, secure research data repository, supported by academic libraries and research institutions across Canada. Borealis supports open discovery, management, sharing, and preservation of Canadian research data. To date, Borealis features over 8000 datasets and has supported over 10 million downloads.

On June 23 an updated Terms of Use will go into effect and the new website will launch at borealisdata.ca. See the blogpost for more details.
