Library & Archives Service Updates as of February 22nd

 

The provincial stay-at-home order has been lifted as of February 16, 2021 and under the the colour zone COVID-19 response framework, Peterborough is within the Yellow-Protect zone and Durham is within the Red-Control zone. In response to these changes, we are providing the following updates to in-person Library Services at both the Peterborough and Durham Campuses, which will take effect as of Monday, February 22.

 

The Durham GTA Campus Library & Learning Centre 

  • The Durham Campus Library & Learning Centre will re-open as of Monday, February 22.
  • The Library Service Desk  will be open during library hours and staff will be available for assistance. 
  • Access to the physical collections is available by requesting items through OMNI and picking up material at the Library Service Desk. No appointment required.
  • As seating has been arranged to ensure proper physical distancing, do not move or rearrange Library furniture.
  • Follow all signage and the university’s Mask & Face Covering Policy while on campus.

 

Bata Library

  • All floors of Bata Library will be open as of Monday, February 22.  Please visit the Library website for library hours.
  • The Library Service Desk at Bata Library will be open during library hours and staff will be available for assistance
  • Access to the physical collections are available by requesting items through Omni and picking up material at the Library Service Desk. No appointment required.
  • Study rooms and booths are available for individual study only and are bookable for up to 1 hour/day. To reserve a group study room visit Room Bookings through MyTrent.
  • Graduate carrels on the third and fourth floors and the Graduate Reading Room on the fourth floor will be available for use.
  • Access to study rooms, study tables, common areas, computers & print stations available
  • As tables, couches, and chairs have been arranged to ensure proper physical distancing, do not move or rearrange Library furniture.
  • Follow all signage and the university’s Mask & Face Covering Policy while on campus.

 

Archives Reading Room 

  • The Archives Reading Room will be re-open Monday, February 22, and is available by appointment only.
  • To book an appointment, please email archives@trentu.ca. Appointments are available during the following times:
    • Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    • Tuesday evenings; 4:00 pm -  7:30 p.m.
  • Before visiting the Archives, please note the COVID-19 controls in place as outlined on the Trent University website for visitors.
  • Every visitor to campus is required to complete the following: 

 

Mandatory Daily Screening

All students, staff and faculty accessing Trent’s campuses in Peterborough or Durham must complete Trent’s mandatory COVID-19 Screening Tool and only proceed to campus if you pass. This screening is required prior to arrival on campus and must be completed each day you plan to come to campus. The screening tool can be accessed at trentu.ca/screen or through the Trent Mobile App under the Trent Forward section.

 

Virtual Services Continuing

  • Online library help will continue to be available by emailing library@trentu.ca
  • Virtual appointments with our Librarians will continue to be available through the Book-A-Librarian service . To book an appointment click here
  • Access to our online collections will continue to be available through Omni.
  • MaDGIC and GIS support will continue to be offered virtually; please email madgichelp@trentu.ca for assistance.
  • MaDGIC staff are also offering zoom drop in sessions as well as MaDGIC Monday information sessions allowing time for questions. For more information please visit the MaDGIC website
