A plaque which accompanies the work is inscribed as follows: "Farmhouse, St. Eustache, by Maurice Cullen, R.C.A. This painting is a gift of Celanese Canada Inc. in honour of the long-time service of Thomas H.B. Symons as a Director and Founding Chair of the Social Responsibility Committee of the Company. March 2000"
