    The first item entitled "Historical Places" was in the custody of B.K. Van Buren of Port Hope, Ontario before it was donated to Trent University Archives. The second item entitled "Book 2 - Art History" was in the custody of Susan Hare before it was donated to Trent University Archives in 2010. Book 2 was inherited by Ms. Hare from her grandmother, Alexandra Luke, a member of Painters Eleven.

    Scope and content

    The first item is a diary of historical places in Paris, France, written from November 1911 to July 1912. It includes postcards of historically interesting buildings and notations regarding the use of the buildings and their origins. The second item is a diary of art history, written from February to July 1912. It includes postcards of works of art and notations relating to the history of art.
