Technology Guide for BL201

The technology in this room supports local presentation with the following equipment:​

  • One 70” LCD display equipped with AirMedia wireless screen sharing system and local computer
  • One 60” LCD display equipped with AirMedia wireless screen sharing system
  • Telephone for calling technical support at extension 1010, option 4
  • WiFi

Room Equipment shown below:

  1. Primary display (70" with AirMedia)
  2. Local computer (CD/DVD) (login with Trent username and password)
  3. Wireless keyboard and mouse for local computer (2)
  4. Secondary display (60" with AirMedia)

In-room  audio visual equipment  numbered one to four

Getting Started in the room:

Turn on the primary display (1) using the Power button  on the left side.

Presenting from the local computer:

  1. Ensure primary  display (1) is on input HDMI2.  If not, use the  display’s  “Input” button to switch to the appropriate input as described on the label near the Input button.
  2. Turn on the local computer  (2) – mounted on the right of the primary display.
  3. Login to the computer with your Trent username and password to access the desktop and open your presentation. Your content will be shown on the primary display (1).

Presenting from a laptop:

  1. Ensure the display (1)  is on input HDMI1.  If not, use the display’s “Input” button to switch to the appropriate input as described on the label near the Input button.
  2. On your Windows or Mac laptop, type the IP address found in the upper left corner of the  display into any web browser.
  3. Download the appropriate application. Run the application
  4. Type in the code found in the upper right corner of the display
  5. You’re now sharing your screen on the room display! For more information, including how to connect from iOS and Android devices, please visit www.trentu.ca/it/airmedia.

Presenting from additional laptops or mobile devices:

  1. Turn on secondary display (4) using the Power button  on the left side.
  2. Ensure display (4) is on input HDMI3.  If not, use the display’s  “Input” button to switch to the appropriate input as described on the label near the Input button.
  3. On your Windows or Mac laptop, type the IP address found in the upper left corner of the  display into any web browser.
  4. Download the appropriate application. Run the application
  5. Type in the code found in the upper right corner of the display
  6. You’re now sharing your screen on the second display! For more information, including how to connect from iOS and Android devices, please visit www.trentu.ca/it/airmedia.

When Your Class is  Finished:

Log off the local computer. Remove your USB devices (if used). Turn off the displays.
