How do I or my designate start a class from home?
- From the left menu within your Blackboard course, select the Zoom Live Sessions link.
- In the list of Upcoming Meetings, verify that the Start Time matches the session you would like to start, then select the Start button on the right.
- Launch Zoom if you have previously installed Zoom, or save and launch the Zoom application at the prompt.
How do I start a class from a classroom?
- If using a webcam, ensure that the camera is connected to the lectern computer. The webcam may also act as the microphone.
If using an integrated YuJa classroom, ensure the camera is turned on from the Crestron touch panel. Find and attach the lapel microphone to your shirt. - Once the camera and microphone are set up, log in to the lectern computer.
- Follow the same steps above for starting a class from home.
How do I add another instructor or TA as an alternative host?
- Users in a Blackboard course with the role of Instructor or Teaching Support/Teaching Assistant will be automatically added as Alternative Hosts when they access the Zoom Live Sessions section in that Blackboard course.

- You can also manage the alternative hosts for your Blackboard course's Zoom sessions by selecting the vertical "..." within the Zoom Live Sessions tool, then select Manage alternative hosts, then add e-mail addresses as appropriate.
How do I cancel a class?
- From the left menu within your Blackboard course, select the Zoom Live Sessions link.
- Find the date for the class you wish to cancel. Select the Delete button to the right of the appropriate listing.
- To remove a single class, select Delete just this occurrence.
To remove all Zoom sessions for that class, select Delete all of the occurrences.
How do I add office hours or other live sessions to my course?

- Your course's Zoom classes are added automatically. You can choose to also add Zoom office hours or other live sessions to your course.
- Students enrolled in your Blackboard course will be able to see and join Zoom meetings created through the Zoom Live Sessions tool.
- From the left menu within your Blackboard course, select the Zoom Live Sessions link.
- Select Schedule a New Meeting.
- Adjust the Topic as required.
- Set the When date and time, and set the Duration.
- To make the meeting repeat (optional), select the Recurring meeting checkbox found under the Time Zone field. Set the Recurrence, Repeat every, and End date fields.
- Adjust the Video and Meeting Options as required (optional):
- Consider selecting Video: Participant: Off.
- Consider enabling Mute participants upon entry.
- Consider selecting Enable waiting room.
- Consider enabling "Automatically Record Meeting" and select "in the cloud" to enabled auto-captioning of your meeting recording.

- Select Save when complete.
Recordings
- Scheduled Zoom classes will record automatically.
- Once a class has ended, the recording will be available only to the instructor by default. Recorded classes are not visible to students until published. In order for students to be able to view a recording, it must be published by the instructor.
- Recordings are encrypted in storage and in transit.
How do I turn off recording for all sessions of a class?
- To turn off recording for all occurrences of a class, from the left menu within your Blackboard course, select the Zoom Live Sessions link.
- Select the topic of the class you would like to edit.
- Select Edit this meeting.
- Deselect the checkbox beside Record the meeting automatically.
- Select Save.
- If applicable, repeat the process for each type of scheduled class in your course (i.e. lecture, seminar(s), etc.).
How do I stop recording a class?
- If you do not wish to record your active class, hover over the Zoom window, and select the Stop icon.
You may also Pause the recording if you do not wish to record certain parts of the class, and then resume recording afterwards.
How do I publish a class recording?
- Recorded classes are not visible to students until published.
- From the Zoom Live Sessions section of your Blackboard course, select Cloud Recordings.
- Verify the date of the session you would like to publish.
- Toggle the Publish switch on to allow students to view the recording.
How do I edit the transcript of a recording?
- From the Zoom Live Sessions section of your Blackboard course, select Cloud Recordings.
- Select the title of the recording you would like to edit.
- Select the Play icon in the video window.
- Note: If a pop-up blocker is enabled in your browser, you may need to select the Play icon a second time.

- The audio transcript appears on the right. Hover over the line you would like to edit and select the Pencil. Make the corrections and select Save.
How do I delete a recording?
- From the Zoom Live Sessions section of your Blackboard course, select Cloud Recordings.
- Find the recording you wish to delete, and select Delete.
- Select Yes.
How do see who attended a live class?
- From the Zoom Live Sessions section of your Blackboard course, select the Previous Meetings tab.
- Verify the date of the session attendance you would like to view.
- Select Report to the right of the appropriate listing.
- The Meeting Report lists meeting participants. If you also used polls in your class, you can find those details in the Poll Report tab.
