Getting Started with the AV Control Touch Panel
If the control panel is dark when you arrive simply tap the surface to wake it up. This is the first screen you should see upon waking the panel. Touch again to bring up the main menu.
Starting a Local Presentation
You have four options for presenting in the room: Lectern PC, Laptop, Document Camera and AirMedia. To begin, start the computer (or device), login (with Trent username and password) and open your presentation. Power on the projectors or SMARTboard by tapping the On button on the touch panel and then tap the desired source. This will project the image for that source. An HDMI adapter cable is available for connecting a personal laptop. You may need to press Windows + P to mirror your display. The optimal display resolution for presentation is 1280 x 800 which can be set through your desktop properties (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac). Note; Mac users will need to bring the appropriate Apple video adapter to connect with the lectern adapter.
Switch from one input source to another as desired using the source buttons.
To adjust volume during a local presentation, simply press the up or down arrow in the Volume box to the right of the menu.
Temporarily cancel video projection by tapping Projector Mute. Tap again to re-enable.
The in-room video camera can be used for lecture capture with YuJa. It is connected to the lectern computer and can be controlled using the Camera Control menu shown above.
SMART Notebook software is available on the lectern PC to interact with the SMART kapp board. Please refer to the Notebook user's guide for instructions.
When You Are Finished
When you are finished in the room, sign off the local PC and press the red Shutdown button on the touch panel in the top right corner of the screen. You are presented with the option to cancel in case you accidentally pressed the Shutdown button. To continue ending your session, press the green Yes button. To return to the previous screen, press No.
Also remember to: turn off the document camera if used, remove personal USB memory sticks, disconnect laptop.
System shutdown will turn off the projectors and the SMARTboard.
