Student Guide for Making a YuJa Video and Adding it to Blackboard
This guide covers:
Recording with YuJa
The first thing to do is open the YuJa Software Recorder (Capture). To do this, go to your course home page in Blackboard and click YuJa Video Platform on the sidebar. (Note: Your instructor may have to enable that option if you don’t have it in the sidebar)
Next click CREATE RECORDING.
If you have the recorder installed already just click START otherwise click Download and install it.
Once it's installed and running YuJa Software Capture will open as shown below.
Enter a title for your video.
If you wish to include your camera image in the recording select that device in the VIDEO pull-down.
Use the AUDIO pull-down to select your microphone and test your voice level by watching the indicator bar under MIC SOURCE.
Your computer screen is selected by default but can be deselected under the SCREEN pull-down.
Click START to begin recording and FINISH when done.
Then SAVE to have it uploaded to the YuJa Video Platform where it will be rendered for playback and/or editing.
Once fully rendered you may view your video back on the YuJa platform.
Uploading to YuJa
You can also upload media recorded elsewhere to YuJa for sharing. For information on uploading in YuJa, please follow this guide.
Linking to your video
To get a direct link for your video, click More on the thumbnail menu.
Click Links on the sidebar.
Then select and copy the URL under Direct Link and paste it to the location as instructed by your professor (this might be an email to them, a Word document that is submitted as an assignment or a discussion group within the course site).
